These are very similar to Momma’s Drop Biscuits with just a couple modifications. In my drop recipe I use butter, but for these biscuits I prefer shortening but butter still works.

Easy Homemade Biscuits

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Shortening or 1 stick butter
- 3/4 cup milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Add dry ingredients bowl and whisk dry to incorporate.
- Put shortening or butter into dry mixture.
- Press into the flour with the back of fork or fingers. If you use a standing mixer for this, it only takes 30 seconds or until pea-sized.
- Add Milk and mix briefly.
- Flour surface and add mixture to begin rolling.
- Roll lightly and flour to keep from sticking. The dough should be 3/4″ to 1″ thick for cutting.
- Place on a cookie sheet just enough to touch. You can add butter to the top if you like, but I like them like this.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes at 375º.
